✳ FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Practical information
to shape your project.

What exactly is a Wind Igloo?
A temporary architectural space made by reusing hot-air balloon fabric that is no longer suitable for flight.
What kinds of activities can take place inside?
Previous projects include concerts, theatre, workshops, exhibitions, light installations and cultural events. Feasibility depends on the structure and event conditions.
Are all igloos the same?
No. Shape, dimensions, colours and adaptations vary with the materials and each structure.
How many people can fit inside?
Capacity depends on the structure, activity, layout and applicable technical and regulatory requirements. It must be assessed for each project.
Can they be installed indoors and outdoors?
They have been used in both settings, but not every structure suits every location. Space, environmental conditions, access and safety need to be reviewed.
How long does installation take?
It depends on the structure, location and production. Inflation time is not necessarily the full setup time.
Does it require electricity?
Documented structures have used electric inflation systems. Power supply and equipment must be specified for each project.
Can you create a bespoke installation?
We can explore proposals for a particular activity, location or artistic idea, depending on materials, timing and technical feasibility.
Can you collaborate on an exhibition or immersive installation?
Yes. A collaboration could take the form of a habitable space within an exhibition, a site-specific installation or a cultural programme. Balloon Museum is a reference for touring inflatable art exhibitions bringing together different artists. Other museum examples, such as Shelburne Museum’s Pop Up: Inflated Sculpture and the High Museum’s Los Porfiados, show different approaches. These are related references, not partners or like-for-like formats: Iglú de Vent focuses on temporary, inhabitable architecture made from reclaimed hot-air balloon fabric. Each proposal is assessed with the curatorial and production team.

Do you work internationally?
Projects and workshops are documented in France, Germany, Sweden, Italy, Greece, Malaysia and New York, as well as across Catalonia. Each new proposal depends on location and logistics.
Do you create wedding and celebration installations?
There is a real example of an installation for newlyweds leaving a town hall. Each new proposal is assessed for location and feasibility.
